Seriously good Sunday lunch – Stratford

By Lindsey Roberts – 28 October 2020
What I loved about Printhouse Bar and Kitchen:

It’s a family run business with a fab outdoor area and cosy indoor seating too

Worth getting an Uber?

Good service, delicious food and a spacious venue

Value for money: 8 out of 10

In the summer, they gave me my pizza fix with some delicious woodfired pizzas. Now the clocks have changed, and we’re heading into winter, I think I’ll be able to get my Sunday lunch fix from the Print House Bar and Kitchen, in Stratford. So last weekend, we decided to head down there to road-test their Sunday lunch as the autumn leaves keep falling.

As we arrived we could see loads of outdoor space on the terrace if you’re still happy to wrap up warm against the elements. We were thankfully able to sit inside though and Ray took us to our table. He was great and looked after us throughout our meal! As we walked through to the main dining room I spotted quite a few sofas spread out in the bar area – I could definitely see myself getting cosy for the afternoon having a few drinks there!

We decided to go for a cocktail and a mocktail first, which were pretty dreamy, but then we went straight for the main attraction: the roast dinner. The menu was kept simple on a Sunday – three meat options and a vegetarian option too.

I went for lamb (my absolute favourite), while my boyfriend went for roast beef. When the plates came, they were piled high – and I couldn’t wait to tuck in! The meat was tender and pink, the vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the Yorkshire puddings were HUGE! And oh my – the red cabbage – delicious!

Sadly I didn’t save any room for dessert – but I did manage to get a sneak peek at their weekly menu, and it sounds great – I spotted sharing platters and arancini balls.

They’ve only recently started serving Sunday lunches – but it doesn’t show. We already can’t wait to come back.
