REVIEW | Sticky Paws at the Flavour Forest, Barons Quay

By Jenny Schippers – 5th December 2020
What I loved about Sticky Paws in the Flavour Forest :

Sticky Paws in the Flavour Forest is an exciting and highly original restaurant and play concept based at the Barons Quay shopping and entertainment complex in Northwich, Cheshire. The brainchild of the team behind the incredibly successful The Ice Cream Farm at Tattenhall near Chester; Sticky Paws in the Flavour Forest is a family-friendly eating and play space suitable for children of all ages. Serving their healthy tapas-style iTi BiTi menu with small dishes that are designed to be snacked on and packed with plenty of hidden veggies!

The indoor Flavour Forest playground has a separate enclosed area for 0-3-year-olds alongside a large adventure play experience suitable for children up to 8 years of age. The play area incorporates slides, climbing ropes, hills, and tunnels to explore all whilst being adjacent to the restaurant and close to where the grown-ups are sitting. You can enjoy time sat with a hot drink whilst your children play and you can be in complete control of when and what you order thanks to their tablet menu. Hot and cold drinks are freeflow so you can go back as many times as you like to refill them.

Worth paying a babysitter?

Absolutely no need! This is a family-friendly restaurant with an adjacent indoor playground suitable for children aged 0-8 years of age. Sticky Paws in the Flavour Forest is situated at the Barons Quay shopping and entertainment complex in Northwich, Cheshire. Within the complex is an Odeon Cinema, a couple of great coffee houses, and an array of shops all with views over the River Weaver.

The ‘Project Happy’ art installation by Emma Evans has created bright and colourful street art that children will love exploring. During December the area has been decorated with Christmas trees, glitter balls, and a light tunnel which transforms the area after dark. The safe, traffic-free zone at Barons Quay is perfect for prams, scooters, and for children to safely navigate. The car park is free for up to 4 hours.

Sticky Paws in the Flavour Forest is a modern and brand new restaurant that first opened its doors in March of this year (2020). If you love The Ice Cream Farm and the quirky ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ design of their play area, then you will love Sticky Paws. Also, the use of tablets to order your food and drink makes for quick and convenient service without having to leave your table.

The play area will appeal to children of all ages and there is a fantastic unisex toilet suitable for the whole family. Barons Quay is completely pram friendly with escalators/travelators from the car park and perfectly smooth pavements. This continues into Sticky Paws with tons of space to navigate and park prams, plenty of high chairs, and child-friendly meals/drinks. It is the ideal place to keep everyone happy; whilst the grown-ups enjoy a hot drink (in relative) peace, little ones can explore and play safely.
