GREAT GIFT IDEAS FOR HIM | He’ll love this mystery foodie tour of Leeds if he loves his grub!

By Kirsty Graham – 11th December 2019

Why we loved the Leeds Foodie Tour…

We loved that we could see our city through new eyes and had a chance to explore places old and new with the benefit of a really knowledgeable guide.

£55 per person (including food at six venues and three drinks).

What he says…

“It was a great way to see parts of Leeds you might otherwise miss on your daily commute. We had some delicious and varied food choices accompanied by some nice drinks along the way. I’d genuinely be so happy to get this as a Christmas present.”

This would make a great gift experience for?

– Someone that lives in Leeds, or the surrounding areas but never gets the opportunity to appreciate it.
Any foodie that’s been to all the ‘usual’ places will love this as it’s something different to just having a sit-down meal.
We thought it would make a great group day out with friends if you all booked together, but likewise really enjoyed getting to know some new people (especially as all our conversations with people nowadays are almost entirely child-centered! It was a real treat not to have a chat that revolved around poo or sick.)

Length of experience:

4 hours

We met at The Queens Hotel Leeds, meandered around six mystery venues within the city centre and ended up back near the train station. Which, if like us, was perfect for getting the train in (and enjoying the drinks that were on offer, mainly).

Setting the scene:

It felt very mysterious meeting in front of the Queens Hotel in Leeds, on a dreary Saturday at midday. Of course, I knew from Instagram that our tour guide, Nell, was a total foodie so we were likely to be in good hands.

Spoiler alert: we were.

However, we had no idea where we’d be going, what we’d eat and who we’d be joining. As this mystery is one of the best parts of the tour, I promise not to spoil it for you! We were taken to six different eateries and given the chance to sample some Yorkshire favourites and have a few drinks here and there – all whilst Nell gave us some lessons in Leeds and Yorkshire history!

I always imagined food tours might be a bit pretentious and maybe not the kind of thing my other half would enjoy, but this wasn’t at all. The type of food on offer and of course the beers sampled definitely kept him happy!

I’m *DEFINITELY* checking out Uniquely Local for a gift for George in the future and would thoroughly recommend the Leeds Food Tour for anyone looking for foodie experiences in Yorkshire. It put Leeds on the map and allows us to compete with the likes of York, that you might expect to have to go to for this kind of day out.

Nell will also be running more Food Tours including Vegan and Street Food, so there will soon be a food tour for any appetite!

Get it booked – he’ll love it… and you will too!
