REVIEW: Fantastic family day trip to Cattle Country in Berkeley, Gloucestershire.

What I loved about Cattle Country:

We had a great family afternoon full of fun, with smiles all round.

The splash pool was a big hit with our kiddies and we were lucky enough to have it all to ourselves as nobody else was as keen to brave the drizzle – what a bonus! Due to COVID, numbers in the pool area are currently limited so if you intend to have a paddle then do book a slot when you arrive at the park, on sunny days I imagine demand is very high.

We enjoyed the Willow Wood maize walk and the farm trail but be prepared as it’s pretty muddy right now so make sure you are wearing wellies, and you will struggle with a pushchair unless it’s a three-wheel sporty number. Mud adds to the fun though right!

The jumping pillows and the amazing adventure castle were thoroughly enjoyed by Daddy as well as the kids, not sure who had more fun to be honest (I was left watching and on photo duty while looking after the buggy, bags and kitchen sink that we had taken with us!).

The pig racing is on at 12 and 15:30, though please check for any changes on the day of your visit, it is very funny to watch with some great commentary. This had a great social distancing set up with roped areas for each family to watch from.

We were so busy enjoying ourselves we didn’t get time to have a go at the mini golf or the boating but both areas looked like they were full of fun and we will be trying them both out next time we visit.

We had a very packed afternoon and would definitely recommend it for a lovely family trip suitable for children of all ages, we will be booking another visit very soon!

At the time of our visit the climbing wall, tractor ride and indoor play barns were sadly still closed due to COVID restrictions.

We felt very safe, every area was lovely and clean and there are plenty of hand washing stations and hand sanitiser pumps around the park. Staff were all very friendly and smiley…a smile goes a long way in my book.
