My kids expect everything in an instant (or at least the very next day from Amazon Prime!) Questions like, "can I have this?", "can we order it online?" and my favourite, "can we go to the shops and get me some new trainers?" (at 8pm!?) KID-FRIENDLY WALK | Carsington Water – Derbyshire

Carsington Water is one of my favourite places to walk. The circular walk is about eight miles long and takes roughly two to three hours (not including time at the pub en route!) so might be a bit much for little legs nor is it entirely pram/pushchair friendly. However, there are plenty of other walks that can be done from the same starting point, which would be suitable for buggies and little legs.

KID-FRIENDLY WALK | Fewston and Swinsty Reservoirs – North Yorkshire

I love taking the kids up for a walk or a run around the Fewston and Swinsty reservoirs. The scenery is stunning and if you go early enough you can find baby deer on the pathways and the reservoir so still it looks like a perfect mirror reflecting the skyline. We love taking a picnic and sitting on one of the many benches around the pathways and then the kids love to spend hours skimming pebbles on one of the small beaches around Swinsty.
