RECOMMENDATION: Cake Tin Delights in Blackpool
Amongst the hustle and bustle and bright lights of Blackpool Town Centre is a little gem of a cake store. A shop that bakes the most delicious treats and is an absolute must to visit. Serving a whole host of different sweet treats there’s sure to be something to tickle your fancy.
I’d like to think I’m a professional cake connoisseur- an expert in my field and pride myself in being able to sniff out a good dessert a mile off. But these aren’t just your regular desserts and treats. Kelly makes the most delicious mish-mash of sweet treats. Double loaded brownies with your favourite chocolate bars, stuffed blondies (white chocolate brownies) topped with cheesecake icing, mouth-watering fudgie stacks and even cookie sandwiches oozing with a chocolate filling.
But, in my opinion, the best thing about Cake Tin Delights has to be their signature ‘Brookie’. What’s a Brookie I hear you ask? It’s a soft and gooey brownie baked inside of a warm, stuffed cookie in every flavour imaginable: Kinder Nutella, Crunchie, Milky Bar, Jammy Dodger, Mint Aero, Stuffed Oreo, Galaxy Ripple, Salted Caramel, Freddo, Cherry Bakewell, Lotus Biscoff, Milky Star… you name it, Kelly bakes it.
The counter changes every day so expect to see something different but as equally delicious on your next visit! The only downside is that the shop usually sells out before closing time so make sure you head down early to avoid disappointment!
And what’s even better… Kelly also offers a vegan counter too so everybody is able to share in the delight!
No sweet potato, beetroot and quinoa brownies in sight but the same delicious goodies drenched in dairy-free chocolate and vegan-friendly treats. Having been dairy free myself for the last ten months the vegan counter has become my saving grace. Allowing me to indulge in the same treats as everyone else. My absolute favourite treat has to be the vegan Nutella brookie or the warm Nutella cookie dough served with soft, velvety ice cream!
My husband and I, along with our daughter Evelyn, who has just turned one, are regular visitors and whilst you can just pop in for a takeaway treat it’s even more enjoyable to sit and soak in the quirky decor. Dressed in white, blue and red and with no WiFi, Kelly offers a variety of board games and books. A touch that I love!
We’ve been on several occasions for an ‘Afternoon Treat Tea’ which unlike usual Afternoon Tea offers a selection of desserts. A perfect way to sample a variety of the counter because let’s face it, when you go in there isn’t just going to be one thing that takes your fancy. Served on a pretty cake stand and with your choice of tea or coffee, it’s a perfect way to spend a few hours catching up with your nearest and dearest.
There isn’t much more you could ask for. A cosy seat, the smell of warm cookies, a comforting hot drink and a delicious treat all served with a friendly smile from Kelly and her team. If you’re in the Blackpool area (or even if you’re not) it’s definitely worth a visit to Cake Tin Delights.

I’m a primary school teacher and I’m a mum to a beautiful, bright and bubbly six-year-old. I witness the ups and downs of wellbeing in children every day. Every parent faces the same dilemma – how to ensure the wellbeing of our children – particularly from a mental health perspective in a world that is more pressured than ever in more ways than one.
Sadly, most of my experience of pregnancy has been strongly associated with grief and loss. I have experienced three pregnancies and yet I only have one daughter who I can physically cherish. For me, pregnancy has become a worrying, anxious time with excitement constantly tainted with fear.
Authentic, delicious and independent, Stuzzi offers Italian cuisine in a relaxed, friendly environment. This small eatery in the heart of Harrogate has an almost tangible passion for incredible ingredients and amazing Italian recipes.
Today it’s International Day of the Girl; a UNICEF campaign that, this year marks 25 years of progress for girls. A conference which took place in Beijing in 1994 culminated in devising a policy agenda for the empowerment of women and thankfully, it hasn’t stopped there.
