LUNCH RECOMMENDATION – Bottomless Lunch as Clerkenwell Grind

Venue: Grind

Author: Caroline Towers

Territory: Clerkenwell, London

Why I love it: Grind is an Instagrammable place but it’s not just pretty the food is delicious too. The Clerkenwell Grind was fun, pink and offers a fantastic bottomless lunch which makes a nice a change from the usual brunch (although they do offer that too).

Expect: Lots of photo taking as Grind is full of Instagram-taking opportunities from the presentation of the food to the details of the decor. It’s not only about looks as Grind delivers on quality too.

Value for money: 9/10

We booked Grind in Clerkenwell last minute. We were staying at The Zetter hotel which is a five minutes walk and as we’d spent the day before being tourists in the city centre we wanted a much more relaxed day before heading for our train. After a bit of research we settled on Grind, there are a few of them in London and we were delighted when we could book a table for two.  It’s not a place I was familiar with but since visiting, I have seen quite a few photos at the different venues on Instagram.

Grind is a delight if, like me, you love to take photos for Instagram! It’s not full of people posing though, I saw people take just a few snaps before catching up with their friends. Everything has been designed with a pink and dark blue theme, it’s the small details which can set a place apart.

We booked for noon and it was busy with the breakfast/brunch bookings but we were shown to our table quickly and we let them know we wanted to do the bottomless lunch which is an add on to the regular menu.

The Menu: On a weekend Grind has a special menu full of both brunch and lunch items. I’d already had breakfast so I opted for a burger and I have to say it was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time.

For the bottomless option, you can add prosecco or bloody marys for £14.50 which gives you 90 minutes of unlimited drinks. They were very generous with the prosecco and I loved how they were served in a 1920’s style champagne glass – I always think this adds a touch of glam!

I was pleasantly surprised by Grind as I wasn’t familiar with it.  The food was delicious, the prosecco was flowing and it was very enjoyable few hours in a popular London restaurant.
