RECOMMENDATION | Great food at Archive Homestore and Kitchen In Ramsgate, Kent

By Kirsty Lavender – 9th May 2020

Why I love Archive: Great food with vegetarian options, friendly staff and located along the gorgeous harbour of Ramsgate.

Expect: A range of freshly made,  delicious breakfast and lunch options

Value for money: 9/10

Setting the scene:

Situated along the beautiful harbour of Ramsgate, this is a bright and airy cafe come lifestyle store which offers not only delicious food and speciality coffee but an array of gifts, homeware and stationery.

Being a local girl, with family living in this quaint seaside town I have visited Archive a few times, I’ve never been disappointed! I’m always looking for somewhere that offers delicious high-quality food with vegetarian options that  I can take my little boy to and we always feel welcome at Archive.

Not only does Archive serve delicious coffee and food it also offers a range of gifts, books and stationery making it difficult for you to leave empty-handed! With a relaxed and friendly vibe, it is the perfect place to meet friends or family.

On each occasion that I have visited the staff have been warm and welcoming and have always been able to answer any questions I might have.

It offers highchairs for babies and my little one loved his soya milk babyccino! There are clean baby changing facilities. There is no dedicated children’s menu but there is plenty to choose from that I’m sure that even the fussiest of children (that’s all of them right!?) will be satisfied. Be warned though there are lots of beautiful toys and books your children will be begging you to buy them!

So if you fancy a hearty breakfast to start your day, brunch with friends or just a great coffee and a natter then be sure to visit Archive.

Highly recommended!

There is a great range of meals both for breakfast and lunch. As a vegetarian, I am always spoilt for choice!  I haven’t been for breakfast yet (I can’t seem to make it out that early with a toddler!) but think fresh croissants, pancakes and plenty of sourdough toast options.

Lunch offers a variety of wraps, sandwiches and hot meals as well as daily changing specials which include salads, tarts and soups.

There is always an array of tempting treats and cakes often including vegan options. (delivered daily by The Modern Boulangerie – a local Ramsgate bakery)

On my most recent visit, I opted for the halloumi and mango salsa wrap. This was delicious! The wrap was generously filled with halloumi and just the right amount of the tangy mango salsa.

I was pretty full after this but I could not resist one of the delicious looking cakes. I decided on the vegan and raspberry chocolate tart. Again, absolutely delicious! My fork cut easily through the cake and it was the perfect amount of bitterness mixed with the sweet of the raspberry.

We were feeling rather full after all of this but luckily the location offered a great route along the Marina for a stroll to walk off all that delicious food!
