GIRL ABOUT YORK
I was born and bred in North Yorkshire, and raised in a small village in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, which has the most beautiful walks and views!
Growing up, I would often visit York with family and friends for shopping trips, stopping for some delicious food or getting a cocktail or two after a nice day out and visiting the many attractions in and around the city. York has an incredible range of restaurants, bars and cafes suiting all tastes and budgets. A city with a rich heritage, especially with the largest gothic cathedral in Europe and the oldest shopping street. A place to create some wonderful memories.
Fast forward a few years, my fiance and I bought a house just outside of York in April 2019 and has so far been amazing to be able to live in and enjoy such a vibrant city right on our doorstep. It is a place you can settle into quickly, but always feels exciting and fun!
My fiance went to college and studied in York for a couple of years so it has always been a place we have both loved individually and as a couple. York is full of exciting opportunities and I am so excited to join the Girl About Blogsquad and share my stories of the best places to eat, drink and stay in and around York.
York has so much to offer for tourists and locals alike. Apparently there are 365 pubs in York – one for every day of the year!
I met Pip 6 years ago when we worked together in the leisure and tourism industry. We got engaged last November (2019) in Whitby – another one of our favourite places to stay! He proposed to me by the whale bone and of course I said yes.
Widely recognized as being one of the UK’s beautiful cities and one of the best places to live, York is also one of the best connected cities, you can get to London in just less than 2 hours or take a short drive out to the countryside, where York is home to two of the countries National Parks; the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors. Pip and I love spending our time walking and discovering new places so we are in the perfect location.
I studied at Sheffield Hallam University and have a degree in Communications, since graduating I have worked for a wide range of companies within a marketing and communications role. I love writing, especially about one of my favourite cities in the world.
