Elevating your 2021 Staycation

Let’s face it, we all deserve a holiday in 2021; somewhere to really relax and forget about the stresses and strains of the last 12 months. The UK holiday rental market has shot through the roof as people choose the security of holidaying close to home this year with many looking to book something a little bit different, with the added ‘X Factor’, as a treat for the whole family.

Many consider the luxury of a hot tub with a holiday rental property to be just the ticket. This bubbly outdoor bathing opportunity catapults an otherwise very ordinary staycation to the next level. Whether that be the added romance factor when travelling as a couple or the increased excitement levels when travelling with children; a hot tub can be the deciding factor when choosing your next holiday accommodation.

Hot Tub Holidays in Cheshire

I have been known to spend many hours scrolling through Airbnb with only the ‘Hot Tub’ box ticked just to gaze through the elegant properties on offer, so I thought it was about time I did a round-up of some breathtaking hot tub properties I have found near where I live in Cheshire.

Whilst many of us are planning breaks closer to home this year, I have listed below five incredible hot tub holidays in Cheshire for you to consider. Some may already be booked up for the remainder of 2021, but I urge you to plan for that special celebration in 2022, and beyond when we can all be together with friends and family again.

**As always, follow the latest travel guidelines and book with a flexible amendment/cancellation policy**

5 Incredible Hot Tub Holidays in Cheshire

1. Forest Holidays, Delamere Forest

This brand new Forest Holiday site opens its doors on 1st April 2021 (subject to restrictions) and offers woodland lodges nestled in the ancient woodland at Delamere Forest close to Chester.

Ranging in size from 1 to 5 bedrooms, these traditional wooden lodges with sleek, contemporary interiors all feature outdoor decking areas with stylish hot tubs. Bookings are now being taken ahead of opening and the Delamere Forest site is the first to feature the White Willow Premium cabin that comes with bi-fold doors, an outdoor kitchen, and luxury fittings.

There are plenty of adventure activities only a stone’s throw away including Go Ape, the Gruffalo Trail and the brand new BeWILDerwood which is planned to open early 2021, once lockdown restrictions have been lifted. Within a short drive, you can also explore the Roman city of Chester, enjoy the independent shops and attractions at Blakemere Village as well as visiting the Hollies Farm Shop at Little Budworth to stock up on essentials.

2. Thornton Manor

Set within the grounds of the grand Thornton Manor Estate on the Wirral,  are 14 holiday cottages, most featuring hot tubs, including Thatched Cottage, Manor Cottage 2, and Housekeeper’s Cottage, serving as the perfect family/dog-friendly escape.

Most notably the home of William Lever, of Port Sunlight fame, this rolling country pile complete with formal gardens and open parkland is the perfect, traffic-free escape for all ages. With an emphasis on comfort, warmth & understated luxury – the cottages are fully equipped for a relaxing and memorable stay. Each cottage is distinctively elegant and laced in history and charm.

Close by, Claremont Farm is a great stop to pick up local produce as well as enjoying the café (currently takeaway only); the beautiful beaches of the Wirral are only a short drive away as is Port Sunlight and the opportunity to walk around this pretty garden village.

3. The Hollies Forest Lodges

With a planned reopening date of 28th February 2021 (subject to restrictions), the Hollies Forest Log Cabins are set on the grounds of the Hollies Farm Shop in Little Budworth.

These luxurious lodges are finished to the highest standard and vary in size from 2 to 3 bedrooms. All the lodges have a hot tub on their veranda and the decking area also includes seating with a BBQ for the Summer months. The site sits within a landscaped forest so there is plenty of space for children to explore safely; guests also have direct access to the farm shops and café (currently takeaway only).

Located within a 5-minute drive of Delamere Forest, the lodges are also close to the Oulton Park racing circuit and an ideal base to explore Chester Zoo and Cheshire Farm Ice Cream, the latter being the largest ice cream farm in the UK. Hollies Forest Lodges allow the perfect base for a family-friendly weekend break or longer holiday discovering all that Cheshire has to offer.

4. Hollies Barn

Situated in rolling countryside just outside the pretty market town of Nantwich; Hollies Barn is a converted former dairy shippon sleeping 12.

This luxurious property has 6 bedrooms and is decorated to a 5* standard throughout. Ideally suited to large family groups, once restrictions are lifted, it is the perfect pad to celebrate with a large garden featuring a hot tub and open plan living throughout. Completely family-friendly and fully accessible, it is easy to see how Hollies Barn appeals to a wide range of guests looking to enjoy all that South Cheshire has to offer.

The barn is conveniently situated close to the Shropshire and Welsh border making the possibilities for day trips endless. Local attractions including Trentham Monkey Forest near Stoke on Trent, the Landrover Experience at Peckforton Castle, and, childcare permitting, the day spas at Rookery and Crewe Halls.

5. Driftwood Lakeside Lodge

Driftwood Lakeside Lodge is a premium two bedroom lodge situated on the water’s edge at Delamere’s Sailing and Holiday Park. The lodge is contemporary in style; open plan with incredible views out through the floor to ceiling windows to the 120 acre Delamere Lake.

The raised decking area, complete with seating and a hot tub, is the ideal spot to enjoy the breathtaking views. The lodge sits on its very own private sandy beach complete with a jetty and a private rowing boat called Drifter which guests are welcome to use. Children under 3 years old are not permitted at the lodge, however, it is the perfect place to come with older children keen to enjoy the water and countryside activities.

Nearby, guests can enjoy various walking trails and attractions in Delamere Forest as well as being only a 20-minute drive from Chester where you can take in the historical sights of the city by walking the Roman Walls and Rows.
