3 Bradford Museum Experiences During Lockdown

By Caroline Towers – 10th February 2020

Whilst the UK is still in lockdown it can be a challenge to know how to fill your days with many places still remaining shut. Museums across Bradford (and the UK) continue to be closed at the moment. Many are offering other ways to experience what the museums have to offer. Having a museum experience from the comfort of your own home or by getting outside and walking is one way to pass the time, be inspired and learn something new.

Bradford Museums

3 of Bradford’s museums are offering different experiences which you can experience from the comfort of your sofa or from going into the city centre. All you need is a screen, some internet and you can be transported somewhere new!

Of course, you can’t beat a real-life experience and once the museums re-open, I would recommend taking a day trip to check them out.

Bradford Science and Media Museum

The Science and Media Museum is hosting live online events. You can also view some of the current galleries and they have activities on their website you can do at home.

Find out what they have to offer on their website https://www.scienceandmediamuseum.org.uk/whats-online

Bradford Museums

Bradford Museums which include Cartwright Hall, Cliffe Castle, Bradford Industrial Museum and Bolling Hall have some family-friendly online activities happening to keep the children occupied whilst at home.

Find out more about the different activities on their website https://www.bradfordmuseums.org/whats-on

Bradford’s Peace Museum

Bradford’s Peace Museum has it’s ‘Peace Trail’ which runs across the city centre to places which are linked in some way with peace, conflict and resolution. The trail begins in Centenary Square with a total of 29 different locations all with a story to tell.

Download your Peace Trail on their website https://peacemuseum.org.uk/

Whether you are exploring the museums from the comfort of your own home or getting out for some steps and fresh air by following the Peace Trail, the museums are helping to make a difference during this challenging lockdown period.

Which of these activities will you be doing first?
